Soccer Superstars

Well, in March I officially became a Suburban Soccer Mom, complete with the mini-van and a cooler full of drinks and snacks for the little soccer superstars! Gone are the days of getting dressed up on a Friday night, drooling over soccer players at highschool games, sitting in the stands with my girlfriends-just waiting for a glimpse at the Soccer Gods that kicked around the hallowed ball! Those nights have been replaced, with barely getting dressed in time to make it to practice at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning, drooling over the cinnamon roll of the mom standing next to me, who is also not awake, and hoping to catch a glimpse of my bed again over the next 18 years! For all the rubbing of the eyes, Jeff and I were sure proud of our mini-me's!!! There is nothing greater in the whole world than seeing your kids play a sport for the first time! It really moved me to see our Nana and our Mr. Man (just babies a minute ago) all dressed up in their Soccer gear and trying to figure out what to do, and why their parents were making them do it! Little Bubbers will be right behind them too! Oh they grow up so fast! The season started a little less aggressive than Nana's coach would have liked to see-as Nana was more interested in picking daisies for her coach (which she happily trotted onto the field in the middle of their first game to give to him) than she was in figuring out which direction she should kick the ball. But by the third game-she had it down and by the tournament games, she had given 3 assists, an awesome sideline kick and 2 great blocks, resulting in an out of bounds call for the opposing team! Who says you can't be a lover and a fighter!!!

Mr. Man's biggest dilema was whether or not he should play soccer, or if he should play on the HUGE playground that his team of 3 year olds practiced by!!! That was the source of many great battles at 10:00 on Saturday mornings for 3 months!!! Needless to say he finally gave in and decided to play with the coach as long as he could keep kicking him with the ball! He was the cutest red-headed, sweaty, little Irish boy out there!

Little Bubbers was the biggest sibling fan out there! He watched patiently waiting for a turn to play with the ball-when he finally got his turn, the ball kept rolling away from him! I think he's going to be a wrestler-since his favorite mode of getting the ball back was to attack it and roll with it whererever it was going! I see a big future for him in Ultimate Cage Fighting!

What can we say-the season ended fabulously-with a big BBQ and lots of shaved ice! Are we ready for a second season? Keep up with the blog-we'll let you know!

Hey guys! Sara here. Long time. I found you through Napoleons blog. Hope all is well. Can you believe it has been 9-10 years for all of us and 3 kids later! Pretty funny. Hope all is well.

Almost 9 years and 3 kids later and we're still smiling!

Isn't love great? Sometimes, at the end of the day, we just sit together and think,"We can't believe we have three kids!" Thank goodness for date nights!

Hills in the News

Well, so far the Hill Family has been keeping up with all of our friends and family through occasional phone calls-but no more! We hope that we can share updates about what is going on in our family regularly, with everyone who knows us through this blog! We hope all of you are doing well and we can't wait to hear from you too.
Since Mama Hill has a bad habit of carrying on long thoughts and conversations, you all may be very thankful for the e-version of communication, so feel free to keep us posted about what's happening in your end of the world (without me talking over you)!
Here's how the Hills roll:
Nana just finished Kindergarten, is reading up a storm and completed her first season ever of soccer!
Mr.Man has discovered how cool Jedi Knights and their blue and red light sabers are!
Little Bubbers has discovered how to defend himself, from his older brothers new interest in hitting him with the cool Jedi Knight light sabers!
Jeff is just working up a storm, occasionally fits in some golf and is constantly trying to figure out a way he can be a millionaire overnight, I am busy working with Moby Wrap, Inc. and recently had an article published at the following address: http://www.modernbabiesandchildren.com/maryland/info/our-stories/all-wrapped-up.htm
Aside from being able to add a little to the family income, I spend most of my days finding ways we can kick the soccer ball, play Star Wars, read books, eat, protect Little Bubbers and become millionaires-all at the same time!
We have had a wonderful couple of years here in our Nations Capitol and just to give you an idea of how much fun we've had in the House of Hill-here are are a couple of pictures we've taken over the last few months.
Until the next update- we hope you have a great time with your own family this summer and we can't wait to see your pictures and read your news too!
All the best-Carrie
